The creation of a 12-page accordion spread after choosing a specific tree in the North Oval at Ohio State. I chose the Black Walnut which is a majestic and powerful tree, however on the inside its roots are poisoning other organisms around it for survival. This tree became more personified leading to the creation of the final book spread.
After going out in the field to see the trees, I did a couple of exercises that helped me envision the Black Walnut tree for a final book spread.
With more exploration, I then crafted the final spread in which I used black, white, and an orange hue to convey courage and power.
